title maybe lil bit confusing, but this is about installing both into one partition with certain features.
ok in other words:
1. TrueCrypt can encrypt your whole system partion or whole HDD which contains system on it (windows, linux..etc)
2. When you use TrueCrypt to do so, then only part that is unencrypted on your harddrive will be the "truecrypt boot loader", which will be launched as soon as HDD is accessed after the bios boots up.
3. When you install SoftIce and select the "Boot" mode, so does SoftIce. it is loaded right after bios boots up.
so the possible problem could be that they conflict and SoftIce may fuck up TrueCrypt somehow and as result you lose your data stored on your HDD (because you wont be able to access it)
fortunetly it seems that they work just fine together and won't conflict. My HDD is fully encrypted so i made the test in virtual PC. it seems that it works just fine. I first installed TrueCrypt and encrypted my HDD fully, then i installed SoftIce and it seem to be working just fine.
there is some problems with SoftIce, but it is caused be the Virtual PC's graphic driver.
So if you have same question: Will TrueCrypt and SoftIce conflict when you encrypt system drive in TrueCrypt and use "Boot" option in SoftIce, then now you know. NO they do not conflict.
test was made with Windows XP Pro SP2 (custom edition - removed sounds, pics, some services..etc).
