Torrent programs causing serious problems

Well i havent had the problem that torrent program slows down net, but V has the problem that when he downloads any torrents .. then he usually can't browse net.
What happend to me ... was that all torrent programs i installed caused OS crash once i started download. like 1-5mins and crash.
I tried all kind of things ... nothing helped. cleaned registry, reinstalled..tried different clients..etc. still same shit. It showed me that blue screen of death saying either this BAD_POOL_CALLER or that PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA.
So i googled for those errors. Basically ..
BAD_POOL_CALLER - caused by KMD (kernel mode driver), there are other factors, but since torrent program caused it, it has to be that one. Kernel mode is some networking stuff...i really dont know every detail of windows. so i tried to update that driver, but it seems its not really a driver either.
PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA - means that the page file part tried to be accessed/read does not exist.
If you read what those errors are about, you should know that it is definetly caused by some kind of networking stuff.
The solution that seems to be working just fine ... is that i change the limit of the ''half-open connections''.
TCP/IP half-open connection limit, it can be changed in the ''tcpip.sys'' file.
Note that i am still not sure if it even worked. Its been downloading on about 30-90kb/s for about 35 mins and so far, so good. I will post update once its clear if it worked or not ... if it downloads whole 4gb of the torrent, then i will consider it as success.
Note that default half-open limit was 10, i changed it to 100.
Now about slowing down...uTorrent seemed to slow down net ..so im guessing it has something to do with the max connections. It has to be like 10-200. Depends on your net and pc
UPDATE
ok its been running for like 7 hours by now and everything works just fine. Speed is not very fast, but i guess its because of torrent and because i have only 100 connections not 200. I also suggest to lower the max connections if it starts to lag out other programs.
